Biodiversity Credits

In some of the most biologically and culturally diverse
regions on the planet

We are proud to present our first Biodiversity Credits project, Yaire, in the Monochoa Indigenous Reserve of Caquetá, Colombia.

Biodiversity Credits are an innovative tool for financing forest conservation. At The Community Forests, we combine advanced technology with the invaluable participation of Indigenous Communities to monitor and safeguard biodiversity effectively.

YAIRE Biodiversity Credits Project

The Yaire Project, based in Colombia’s Monochoa Indigenous Reserve along the Caquetá River, protects the Amazon’s rich biodiversity while empowering Uitoto and Muinane Indigenous Communities to strengthen governance and implement livelihood plans.

By addressing deforestation drivers like illegal mining and agriculture expansion, Yaire safeguards threatened species, cultural heritage, and diverse landscapes.

How It Works
Biodiversity credits are earned through measurable gains across 15+ indicators, blending advanced technology with traditional knowledge for effective monitoring and conservation.

Impact
Proceeds fund biodiversity monitoring, essential services, and sustainable food production, with investment priorities set by the community’s traditional authorities.

Yaire exemplifies the harmony of biodiversity preservation and community-driven empowerment!
